At-Risk in Primary Care - Adolescents



At-Risk in Primary Care - Adolescents is a 30-minute learning experience and addresses adolescent mental health. This virtual patient simulation is designed to provide education and practice in essential techniques for engaging adolescents in important conversations about mental health in a primary care context.

At-Risk in Primary Care - Adolescent is approved for 0.75 CME AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 0.75 ANCC CNE contact hours.

Healthcare professionals will learn to:
  • Recognize the importance of mental health as part of the role of primary care
  • Build rapport with patients using motivational interviewing tactics
  • Broach and normalize the topic of mental health
  • Appropriately ask a patient about suicidal ideation and assess level of risk
  • Take appropriate steps for referral and follow-up
